Maintaining fun vivid colors, but at what cost?
First things First...
I'm the realest (did you sing that?) Generally speaking, stylist do have you and your hair's best interest at heart. When it comes to the colors of the rainbow nothing is permanent, until you want to get it out. In other words, they fade fast, and at the same time they are incredibly difficult to remove.
Preventing the inevitable
Start to get comfy taking a cold shower because cooler water can constrict the cuticle layer and help prevent color from falling out.
Learn to love dry shampoo! It's honestly the best anyways.
I will go into my love for dry shampoo and how to use them in a future post.
Use a deposit heavy shampoo. There are so many on the market right now My favorite is Tressa Watercolors Intense Shampoo. It comes in a multitude of colors at a great price point, it smells good and makes your hair feel good.
Last but not least, high maintenance colors are simply that, high maintenance. See your stylist every 6 weeks or as recommended by your own professional.
